Dreamweaver Extensions Database
Now you can search for the Dreamweaver object, behavior, command, inspector - whatever extension you need, right from one source. With the help of fellow creators in the Dreamweaver community, I've established, and maintain, the Dreamweaver Extensions Database. Search and sort by keyword, site, type of extension, or author. When you find your object, jump directly to it. The database includes all known extensions from all active sites.

Some of the objects below (plus others) can be found on the CD-ROM that comes with my book, The Dreamweaver Bible, published by IDG Books World Wide. The newer extensions are currently only available on this site.

Downloading
All the files here are zipped for easy downloading. Windows users can uncompress these files with a utility like WinZip, PKZip, or JustZIPit . Macintosh users can use c|net's Shareware.com, including MacunZip, DropStuff with Expander Enhancer, and unZipMac 5.0p1.

Installation
As with all other objects and behaviors, installation is very straightforward. To install an object found here, download the file, unzip it and then copy the two files (an HTML file and a GIF file) to any subfolder found in the Configuration\Objects directory, such as Common or Invisibles. You can also create your own subfolder in the Objects folder and store your new objects there.

To install an behavior (also known as actions), first download the file and unzip it. Then copy the uncompressed file to the Configuration\Behaviors\Action folder. You can also create a new subfolder in the Action directory to store your new actions.

Use
All objects, behaviors, techniques and templates found here are free for personal use. Please contact me for any commercial use.

QuickWindow - Recently updated by the author Alexander Czernay, this version replaces the one found on the Dreamweaver 2 Bible CD-ROM in the Andrew Wooldridge folder.

Updated Behavior:
Center Layers 2.2 - Updated for Dreamweaver 2 by the author, Michael Davis, this essential behavior centers any selected layer vertically, horizontally or both when displayed in a 4.0 or better Web browser. Michael recently revised this behavior to correct a problem with framesets. (N.B.: If you store this behavior in a subfolder of the Action directory, you must also copy the _common.js and _commonText.js files to that subfolder.)

New Command:
Insert Shockwave HTML - Director 7 can now output an HTML page with each Shockwave movie generated. With this Command, just select the Shockwave movie you want on your page and the HTML is inserted, automatically. Unlike the standard Shockwave object, this Command includes the size of the movie.

New Enhanced Object:
Draw Autofix Layer 2 - Tired of always forgetting to add the Netscape Navigator resize fix on your pages with layers? This enhanced object automatically inserts the fix the first time a layer is inserted. You never have to think about it again. This version was revised by Massimo Foti and only uses the object file (there's no command file to install). Works the same as the original version, but it's easier to install.

Command:
Replicator - Use this Command to duplicate any selected object, any number of times. You can optionally insert a space, a return, a break, a horizontal rule or nothing at all between each replicate.

Object:
Enhanced Table - Adds caption, cellpadding, cell spacing, and no border options - plus sets the font name and size for every cell in the table. While it can't change a table's font setting once it's been created, you can create a table with a specific font preselected.

Behavior:
Check Mime - Like Check Plugin, looks for specific MIME types and routes users to other Web pages if it doesn't find 'em.

Objects:
Character Entities - Insert High ASCII character entities (everything from ¡ to ™ - 96 symbols in all). Allows you to insert multiple character entities.
Requires Dreamweaver 1.2 (now available).

<sub> and <sup> objects. Updated (2/1/98) to add comments (or not -- your choice) surrounding the tag and inserted text. Since Dreamweaver doesn't currently support the preview of these elements, this method is used to mark their existence.
